Why departments!!!

It has been a month since I have joined a new job here at my native place. The pay is adequate for the moment, but I don't know whether the amount will effect me latter or not, as because humans  have made money as the necessary evil which is going to ride the vehicle of their life. Hence even I am bound to have desires for money.

Ahhhh, well recently from my job I have learn something very important and would love to share.

An organization is divided into many different segments which we call as departments. The thing is that these departments are mutually exclusive with each other. Their collective work result into the complete output of a whole organization.

Just talking about the efficiency of the organization, one has to consider that each and every department is giving its best to complete their part of work.

Now, gradually when we reduce the size of the organization a whole department may comprise of only one person (i.e. a single person may represent a department) then we start to get concerned about others work and if we have a good heart then we may even indulge with him/her to make his work done as fast as possible. If any person or any department start taking care of any other department then there may be chances that the helper department may lose concentration on its own work thus reducing the quality of their piece of work.

This may become a cause why a product or the project which is under development may receive a flaw in it, though the departments can't be blamed as they are good in their work but still these kind of errors may occur inside a middle scale or a small scale organization.

Corporate Irritation & Fragility

Sometimes when we are sitting in front of our computer and working for a while, we really want to see thing which are easy to understand and recall anything related to any stuff, it might be a word or a topic or even a project.

Thing is on the first day of my job I learn something from my boss, he said that we should be organized. Yes, sure. That day I decided that I will be organized as much as possible.

First week, when I was working with my colleagues, I got a glance of their computers and saw how unorganized their file structures are!! Even their desktop was filled with icons of folders, documents, applications, etc. I thought how unorganized they are!! My boss should have also said the same thing to them that 'to be organized' on their first day, but still how can they be so disorganized ??

Managing - being organized

The place where I do stay it was not so economically sound few years back but with advancement of time the place got modernized and the population increased rapidly. Many schools were opened near by and value of that area really increased. The only thing which remained same was the roads, it never increased in size. As a result every morning at 8 there is a huge traffic as because students are being brought to the schools by cars, buses and bikes.
How government tried to solve this huge traffic is by simply placing more numbers of police there. This was the solution brought down from managing authorities of the government.

Now, all these which you just read now had no connection with what I really want to say. Actually today in the morning my partner said that a website development company claims that they can build any kind of site in just 7 days. Well very impressive.

I really though about this and compared the work flow in the company where I work currently. Here any project takes minimum 2 months to complete. Then I got the idea that how can one possibly say such sentence regarding completing of a website project in just 7 days.

I basically do project management when working on any project. I really try to learn and new methodologies so that development team may complete the project on time and with quality. I read many ways and try to implement those and test it to come up with new ways of project development.

--Still learning, but yes I can't really complete any kind of website in just 7 days.

Employee Entrepreneur

Working as a 9-5 full time employee and trying hard to start a new business/venture alongside, then you will need:-
1. Commitment: Working for yourself, your venture with a thought that it may replace your job or bring in a steady flow of revenue then; "Ask yourself that whether your passion for the new business venture is strong enough to surpass the frustrations and struggles of working all hours of days and night?"

2. Stay Organized: one has to work more hard to stay on top of everything when managing a full time job and a side business.

3. Prioritize: this is the only way to finish the task within deadline.

4. Constantly assess: while growing a business one is likely to try new projects and partnerships that may or may not work. To succeed you need to be in a constant evaluation mode.

5. Start small: If you aim too high and set unrealistic goals, you will likely find yourself discouraged and frustrated with your progress, or lack thereof. Balancing a side venture and a 9-5 full time job is tough; hence it is important to cut yourself a slack when creating objectives for your entrepreneurial venture. Celebrate each small success and recognize that each step leads you closer to long-term success.

6. Be Resourceful: When you are trying to run a business, you have to keep a record of a lot of details on your own. However if you are also working full time then it is not realistic to think that you can do everything of your own, especially if you don’t have the skills for the goals need to accomplish. Either partner with someone or hire someone.
Proactively build a network of trusted resources that you can rely on from time to time to keep your business' momentum going. For example, seek out a recent college graduate looking for experience to handle the day-to-day administrative work and gain real-life job experience.

7. Be Patient: small business takes time to be profitable. Make slow progress, as opposed to turning points and seeing business boom right away.

8. Accept failure and criticism in stride: Don’t be discouraged when something doesn’t work out. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn how to do better next time.

9. Don’t forget to recharge: To start your own business you have to accept a workaholic lifestyle, but don’t forget to maintain a little balance in your life. Sometimes, you'll get inspiration or ideas in the least likely places. Don't underestimate how much keeping up with your day-to-day social engagements and routines may help you succeed.

Goals - long term vs short term rewards

I guess it has started to be clear now that it's the goal which drives a person or else he or she may fall in the grip of the activitie...
